It’s been a monumentally stressful month. We had a job-loss scare, my schedule changed so that I have Sundays off and work every Friday, and the holidays all fell on Sunday this season.

So I haven’t been keeping up with recording menus, and our meals have been very, very plain. Delicious, but plain. Here are some of the things I remember:

crockpot nacho beans. with rice, with cornbread, with chips.
boureka
fake-bacon sandwiches
“cheese odyssey” tm
we ate at shul at least once
lasagna pie (extreme success)
pumpkin pie
apple pie

September 4-5

Friday night: fried salmon (from a pouch, not fresh), rice, broccoli
Saturday day: shul (spur of the moment)
2nd lunch: pizza (meant for lunch)

September 11-12
Friday night: nacho beans w/rice &/or corn chips, avocado salad, challah
Saturday day: stuff from Aroma — bourekas, various salads, frozen felafel, challah, Israeli cream cheeese

September 18-20 (also: Rosh Hashanah)
Friday: nachos
Saturday 1: zucchini and mozzarella quiche
Saturday 2: leftovers. Rhubarb betty for new fruit/kiddush
Sunday: pouched salmon, rice

September 25-25
Friday: tofu lo mein
Saturday: boureka, egg

Friday night:

Tofu Lo Mein: marinated, broiled tofu. Organic wheat/rice udon. Broccoli, zucchini, carrots.

Saturday day:

Assorted Israeli dishes from Netanya: 9% cheese, fresh pita, hummus, red cabbage salad, carrot salad, eggplant salad, potato bourekas. Hard boiled egg.

2nd lunch:

random leftovers.

Friday:

noodles, moroccan fish, bbq tofu, grilled cheese, veg hot dog “musubu” shushi, fake-bacon carbonara, scrambled eggs, nachos, veg subs, curry veg, stir fry, chow (vegetarian cholent)

Saturday:

big salad w/beans & fake bacon, pasta salad, fake-bacon blt, pita hummus, tofu & noodles, peanut butter sandwiches, pizza, quiche, roasted chickpeas & carrots, greek salad
